1 Samuel 21:5 - Modern King James Version

5 And David answered the priest and said to him, Truly women have been kept from us for about three days, since I came out, and the vessels of the young men are holy, and in a way the holy bread is common. Also surely today it is sanctified in the vessels.

And it shall be Aaron's and his sons'. And they shall eat it in the holy place, for it is most holy to him of the fire offerings of Jehovah, by a never-ending statute.


And he took one unleavened cake out of the basket of unleavened bread that was before Jehovah, and a cake of oiled bread, and one wafer, and put them on the fat, and on the right shoulder.


But the Lord said to him, Go! For this one is a chosen vessel to Me, to bear My name before nations and kings and the sons of Israel.


Do not deprive one another, unless it is with consent for a time, so that you may give yourselves to fasting and prayer. And come together again so that Satan does not tempt you for your incontinence.


For it is better, if the will of God wills it, to suffer for well-doing than for evil-doing.
