And David's anger was greatly kindled against the man. And he said to Nathan, As the Lord lives, the man who has done this shall surely die.


And the king said to Joab, Behold now, I have done this thing. Go therefore and bring the young man Absalom again.


All happens alike to all; there is one event to the righteous and to the wicked; to the good and to the clean, and to the unclean; to him who sacrifices, and to him who does not sacrifice. As is the good, so is the sinner. He who swears is as he who fears an oath.


And the men of Israel were distressed on that day. For Saul had commanded the people, saying, Cursed is the man that eats food until evening, so that I may be avenged on my enemies. So none of the people tasted any food.


Then he said to all Israel, You be on one side, and Jonathan my son and I will be on the other side. And the people said to Saul, Do what seems good to you.


And Saul answered, God do so and more also, for you shall surely die, Jonathan.


And Saul listened to the voice of Jonathan. And Saul swore, As Jehovah lives, he shall not die.


For as long as the son of Jesse lives on the earth, you shall not be established, nor your kingdom. And now send and bring him to me, for he shall surely die.


And the king said, Ahimelech, you shall surely die, you and all your father's house.


And Saul swore to her by Jehovah, saying, As Jehovah lives, there shall no punishment happen to you for this thing.
