And now when I am old and gray-headed, O God, do not leave me; until I have declared Your strength to this generation, and Your power to everyone who is to come.


who may go out before them, and who may go in before them, and who may lead them out, and who may bring them in, so that the congregation of Jehovah may not be as sheep which have no shepherd.


For I am already being poured out, and the time of my release is here.


And it happened many days after Jehovah had given rest to Israel from all their enemies all around, Joshua became old, far along in days.


And Joshua called for all Israel, for their elders and for their heads, and for their judges, and for their officers, and said to them, I am old, far along in days.


knowing that the putting off of my tabernacle is soon, as indeed our Lord Jesus Christ made clear to me.


And Eli was very old, and heard all that his sons did to all Israel, and how they lay with the women who gathered at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.

For I have told him that I will judge his house forever for the iniquity which he knows, because his sons made themselves vile and he did not restrain them.


And Eli called Samuel and said, Samuel, my son. And he answered, Here am I.


And it happened when Samuel was old, he made his sons judges over Israel.


And we shall be, also we, like all the nations, so that our king may judge us and go out before us and fight our battles.


And his sons did not walk in his ways, but turned aside after ill gain and took bribes and perverted judgment.


And they said to him, Behold, you are old, and your sons do not walk in your ways. Now make us a king to judge us like all the nations.
