For the arrows of the Almighty are within me, The poison whereof drinketh up my spirit: The terrors of God do set themselves in array against me.


For, lo, the wicked bend their bow, they make ready their arrow upon the string, That they may privily shoot at the upright in heart.


Cast forth lightning, and scatter them: Shoot out thine arrows, and destroy them.


Yea, he sent out his arrows, and scattered them; And he shot out lightnings, and discomfited them.


Thine arrows are sharp in the heart of the king's enemies; Whereby the people fall under thee.


Who whet their tongue like a sword, And bend their bows to shoot their arrows, even bitter words:


But God shall shoot at them With an arrow; suddenly shall they be wounded.


He hath bent his bow like an enemy: He stood with his right hand as an adversary, And slew all that were pleasant to the eye In the tabernacle of the daughter of Zion: He poured out his fury like fire.


The sun and moon stood still in their habitation: At the light of thine arrows they went, And at the shining of thy glittering spear.


Thou wentest forth for the salvation of thy people, Even for salvation with thine anointed; Thou woundedst the head out of the house of the wicked, By discovering the foundation unto the neck. Selah.


I will heap mischiefs upon them; I will spend mine arrows upon them.
