Psalm 129:1

In my distress I cried unto the LORD, and he heard me.


I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, From whence cometh my help.


I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the LORD.


Unto thee lift I up mine eyes, O thou that dwellest in the heavens.


If it had not been the LORD who was on our side, now may Israel say;


They that trust in the LORD Shall be as mount Zion, Which cannot be removed, But abideth for ever.


When the LORD turned again the captivity of Zion, We were like them that dream.


Except the LORD build the house, They labour in vain that build it: Except the LORD keep the city, The watchman waketh but in vain.


Blessed is every one that feareth the LORD; That walketh in his ways.


I am afflicted and ready to die From my youth up: While I suffer thy terrors I am distracted.


Therefore they did set over them taskmasters to afflict them with their burdens. And they built for Pharaoh treasure cities, Pithom and Raamses.


And Pharaoh charged all his people, saying, Every son that is born ye shall cast into the river, and every daughter ye shall save alive.


Stand now with thine enchantments, and with the multitude of thy sorceries, wherein thou hast laboured from thy youth; if so be thou shalt be able to profit, if so be thou mayest prevail.

Judah is gone into captivity because of affliction, And because of great servitude: She dwelleth among the heathen, She findeth no rest: All her persecutors overtook her Between the straits.


and they committed whoredoms in Egypt; they committed whoredoms in their youth: there were their breasts pressed, and there they bruised the teats of their virginity.


When Israel was a child, then I loved him, and called my son out of Egypt.

Now there was no smith found throughout all the land of Israel: for the Philistines said, Lest the Hebrews make them swords or spears:
