Thus I was as a man that heareth not, And in whose mouth are no reproofs.


He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth.


And when he was accused of the chief priests and elders, he answered nothing.


And Pilate asked him, Art thou the King of the Jews? And he answering said unto him, Thou sayest it .


And Pilate asked him again, saying, Answerest thou nothing? behold how many things they witness against thee.


But Jesus yet answered nothing; so that Pilate marvelled.


And from thenceforth Pilate sought to release him: but the Jews cried out, saying, If thou let this man go, thou art not Cæsar's friend: whosoever maketh himself a king speaketh against Cæsar.
