So David slept with his fathers, and was buried in the city of David.


Then king Jeho´ash called for Jehoi´ada the priest, and the other priests, and said unto them, Why repair ye not the breaches of the house? now therefore receive no more money of your acquaintance, but deliver it for the breaches of the house.


And he had brethren the sons of Jehosh´aphat, Azari´ah, and Jehi´el, and Zechari´ah, and Azari´ah, and Michael, and Shephati´ah: all these were the sons of Jehosh´aphat king of Israel.


Thirty and two years old was he when he began to reign, and he reigned in Jerusalem eight years, and departed without being desired. Howbeit they buried him in the city of David, but not in the sepulchres of the kings.


But Jehoi´ada waxed old, and was full of days when he died; a hundred and thirty years old was he when he died.


Now after the death of Jehoi´ada came the princes of Judah, and made obeisance to the king. Then the king hearkened unto them.


And thus did Hezeki´ah throughout all Judah, and wrought that which was good and right and truth before the Lord his God.


Remember me, O my God, concerning this, and wipe not out my good deeds that I have done for the house of my God, and for the offices thereof.


And when his disciples heard of it, they came and took up his corpse, and laid it in a tomb.


Men and brethren, let me freely speak unto you of the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his sepulchre is with us unto this day.


For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labor of love, which ye have showed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.


Wherefore the Lord God of Israel saith, I said indeed that thy house, and the house of thy father, should walk before me for ever: but now the Lord saith, Be it far from me; for them that honor me I will honor, and they that despise me shall be lightly esteemed.
