Arise, get thee to Zar´ephath, which belongeth to Zidon, and dwell there: behold, I have commanded a widow woman there to sustain thee.


And Pha´raoh–ne´choh put him in bands at Riblah in the land of Hamath, that he might not reign in Jerusalem; and put the land to a tribute of a hundred talents of silver, and a talent of gold.


and the king of Babylon smote them, and slew them at Riblah in the land of Hamath. So Judah was carried away out of their land.


and all the kings of Tyrus, and all the kings of Zidon, and the kings of the isles which are beyond the sea,


because of the day that cometh to spoil all the Philistines, and to cut off from Tyrus and Zidon every helper that remaineth: for the Lord will spoil the Philistines, the remnant of the country of Caphtor.


Concerning Damascus. Hamath is confounded, and Arpad; for they have heard evil tidings: they are faint-hearted; there is sorrow on the sea; it cannot be quiet.

Hamath, Ber´othah, Sibra´im, which is between the border of Damascus and the border of Hamath: Ha´zar–hat´ticon, which is by the coast of Hau´ran.


Thus saith the Lord; For three transgressions of Damascus, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they have threshed Gil´e-ad with threshing instruments of iron:


But, behold, I will raise up against you a nation, O house of Israel, saith the Lord the God of hosts; and they shall afflict you from the entering in of Hamath unto the river of the wilderness.


And the captivity of this host of the children of Israel shall possess that of the Canaanites, even unto Zar´ephath; and the captivity of Jerusalem, which is in Sepha´rad, shall possess the cities of the south.


So they went up, and searched the land from the wilderness of Zin unto Rehob, as men come to Hamath.
