but his bow abode in strength, and the arms of his hands were made strong by the hands of the mighty God of Jacob; (from thence is the shepherd, the stone of Israel;)


And now for a little space grace hath been showed from the Lord our God, to leave us a remnant to escape, and to give us a nail in his holy place, that our God may lighten our eyes, and give us a little reviving in our bondage.


The stone which the builders refused is become the head stone of the corner.


The princes of Zo´an are become fools, the princes of Noph are deceived; they have also seduced Egypt, even they that are the stay of the tribes thereof.


therefore thus saith the Lord God, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation: he that believeth shall not make haste.


And he hath made my mouth like a sharp sword; in the shadow of his hand hath he hid me, and made me a polished shaft; in his quiver hath he hid me;

Thou art my battle-axe and weapons of war: for with thee will I break in pieces the nations, and with thee will I destroy kingdoms;


And I will cut off the chariot from E´phra-im, and the horse from Jerusalem, and the battle bow shall be cut off: and he shall speak peace unto the heathen: and his dominion shall be from sea even to sea, and from the river even to the ends of the earth.


And I will encamp about mine house because of the army, because of him that passeth by, and because of him that returneth: and no oppressor shall pass through them any more: for now have I seen with mine eyes.


I shall see him, but not now: I shall behold him, but not nigh: there shall come a Star out of Jacob, and a Sceptre shall rise out of Israel, and shall smite the corners of Moab, and destroy all the children of Sheth.


pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth laborers into his harvest.


And he beheld them, and said, What is this then that is written, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner?


and are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;


No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.


Wherefore also it is contained in the Scripture, Behold, I lay in Zion a chief corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believeth on him shall not be confounded.


These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful.


And Saul said, Draw ye near hither, all the chief of the people: and know and see wherein this sin hath been this day.
