Then David arose, and all the people that were with him, and they passed over Jordan: by the morning light there lacked not one of them that was not gone over Jordan.


And it came to pass, when David was come to Mahana´im, that Shobi the son of Nahash of Rabbah of the children of Ammon, and Machir the son of Am´mi-el of Lo–de´bar, and Barzil´lai the Gil´e-adite of Ro´gelim,


as the dew of Hermon, and as the dew that descended upon the mountains of Zion: for there the Lord commanded the blessing, even life for evermore.


My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? Why art thou so far from helping me, and from the words of my roaring?


Then will I go unto the altar of God, unto God my exceeding joy: yea, upon the harp will I praise thee, O God my God.


Why art thou cast down, O my soul? And why art thou disquieted within me? Hope in God: for I shall yet praise him, who is the health of my countenance, and my God.


From the end of the earth will I cry unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed. Lead me to the rock that is higher than I;


When my soul fainted within me I remembered the Lord: and my prayer came in unto thee, into thine holy temple.


And he went a little further, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless, not as I will, but as thou wilt.


And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabach´thani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?
