His work is honorable and glorious: and his righteousness endureth for ever.


Wealth and riches shall be in his house: and his righteousness endureth for ever.


All the horns of the wicked also will I cut off; but the horns of the righteous shall be exalted.


But my horn shalt thou exalt like the horn of a unicorn: I shall be anointed with fresh oil.


Mine eye also shall see my desire on mine enemies, and mine ears shall hear my desire of the wicked that rise up against me.


The crown of the wise is their riches: but the foolishness of fools is folly.


He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth unto the Lord; and that which he hath given will he pay him again.


He coveteth greedily all the day long: but the righteous giveth and spareth not.


In the morning sow thy seed, and in the evening withhold not thine hand: for thou knowest not whether shall prosper, either this or that, or whether they both shall be alike good.


a time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away;


But the liberal deviseth liberal things; and by liberal things shall he stand.


and if thou draw out thy soul to the hungry, and satisfy the afflicted soul; then shall thy light rise in obscurity, and thy darkness be as the noonday:


Is it not to deal thy bread to the hungry, and that thou bring the poor that are cast out to thy house? when thou seest the naked, that thou cover him; and that thou hide not thyself from thine own flesh?


that thine alms may be in secret: and thy Father which seeth in secret himself shall reward thee openly.


For ye have the poor with you always, and whensoever ye will ye may do them good: but me ye have not always.


But rather give alms of such things as ye have; and, behold, all things are clean unto you.


Sell that ye have, and give alms; provide yourselves bags which wax not old, a treasure in the heavens that faileth not, where no thief approacheth, neither moth corrupteth.


And I say unto you, Make to yourselves friends of the mammon of unrighteousness; that, when ye fail, they may receive you into everlasting habitations.


Now when Jesus heard these things, he said unto him, Yet lackest thou one thing: sell all that thou hast, and distribute unto the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, follow me.

I have showed you all things, how that so laboring ye ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.

For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich.


For the poor shall never cease out of the land: therefore I command thee, saying, Thou shalt open thine hand wide unto thy brother, to thy poor, and to thy needy, in thy land.


thou shalt furnish him liberally out of thy flock, and out of thy floor, and out of thy winepress: of that wherewith the Lord thy God hath blessed thee thou shalt give unto him.


in any case thou shalt deliver him the pledge again when the sun goeth down, that he may sleep in his own raiment, and bless thee: and it shall be righteousness unto thee before the Lord thy God.


that they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate;


But to do good and to communicate forget not: for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.


For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labor of love, which ye have showed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.


He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still.


And Hannah prayed, and said, My heart rejoiceth in the Lord, mine horn is exalted in the Lord; my mouth is enlarged over mine enemies; because I rejoice in thy salvation.


Wherefore the Lord God of Israel saith, I said indeed that thy house, and the house of thy father, should walk before me for ever: but now the Lord saith, Be it far from me; for them that honor me I will honor, and they that despise me shall be lightly esteemed.
