Now therefore the sword shall never depart from thine house; because thou hast despised me, and hast taken the wife of Uri´ah the Hittite to be thy wife.


and will make thine house like the house of Jerobo´am the son of Nebat, and like the house of Ba´asha the son of Ahi´jah, for the provocation wherewith thou hast provoked me to anger, and made Israel to sin.


They rewarded me evil for good to the spoiling of my soul.


They also that render evil for good are mine adversaries; because I follow the thing that good is.


Evil pursueth sinners: but to the righteous good shall be repaid.


Then answered all the people, and said, His blood be on us, and on our children.
