And Uri´ah said unto David, The ark, and Israel, and Judah, abide in tents; and my lord Jo´ab, and the servants of my lord, are encamped in the open fields; shall I then go into mine house, to eat and to drink, and to lie with my wife? as thou livest, and as thy soul liveth, I will not do this thing.


the son of Abishu´a, the son of Phin´ehas, the son of Ele-a´zar, the son of Aaron the chief priest:


According to all that I show thee, after the pattern of the tabernacle, and the pattern of all the instruments thereof, even so shall ye make it.


But they presumed to go up unto the hilltop: nevertheless the ark of the covenant of the Lord, and Moses, departed not out of the camp.


So there were delivered out of the thousands of Israel, a thousand of every tribe, twelve thousand armed for war.


And it shall be, when ye are come nigh unto the battle, that the priest shall approach and speak unto the people,


And the children of Israel sent unto the children of Reuben, and to the children of Gad, and to the half tribe of Manas´seh, into the land of Gil´e-ad, Phin´ehas the son of Ele-a´zar the priest,


And Saul said unto Ahi´ah, Bring hither the ark of God. For the ark of God was at that time with the children of Israel.


And David knew that Saul secretly practised mischief against him; and he said to Abi´athar the priest, Bring hither the ephod.


And the messenger answered and said, Israel is fled before the Philistines, and there hath been also a great slaughter among the people, and thy two sons also, Hophni and Phin´ehas, are dead, and the ark of God is taken.
