And Timna was concubine to El´iphaz Esau's son; and she bare to El´iphaz Am´alek: these were the sons of Adah Esau's wife.


And they smote the rest of the Amal´ekites that were escaped, and dwelt there unto this day.


After these things did king Ahasue´rus promote Haman the son of Hammeda´tha the A´gagite, and advanced him, and set his seat above all the princes that were with him.


And the king commanded it so to be done: and the decree was given at Shushan; and they hanged Haman's ten sons.


And the Lord said unto Moses, Write this for a memorial in a book, and rehearse it in the ears of Joshua: for I will utterly put out the remembrance of Am´alek from under heaven.


for he said, Because the Lord hath sworn that the Lord will have war with Am´alek from generation to generation.


Then came Am´alek, and fought with Israel in Reph´idim.


Out of Jacob shall come he that shall have dominion, and shall destroy him that remaineth of the city.


And ships shall come from the coast of Chittim, and shall afflict Asshur, and shall afflict Eber, and he also shall perish for ever.


He shall pour the water out of his buckets, and his seed shall be in many waters, and his king shall be higher than Agag, and his kingdom shall be exalted.


And so it was, when Israel had sown, that the Mid´i-anites came up, and the Amal´ekites, and the children of the east, even they came up against them;


And he gathered a host, and smote the Amal´ekites, and delivered Israel out of the hands of them that spoiled them.


Thus saith the Lord of hosts, I remember that which Am´alek did to Israel, how he laid wait for him in the way, when he came up from Egypt.


And it came to pass, when David and his men were come to Ziklag on the third day, that the Amal´ekites had invaded the south, and Ziklag, and smitten Ziklag, and burned it with fire;


And David smote them from the twilight even unto the evening of the next day: and there escaped not a man of them, save four hundred young men, which rode upon camels, and fled.
