And the king turned his face about, and blessed all the congregation of Israel: and all the congregation of Israel stood;


And Hezeki´ah spake comfortably unto all the Levites that taught the good knowledge of the Lord: and they did eat throughout the feast seven days, offering peace offerings, and making confession to the Lord God of their fathers.


and said unto the Levites that taught all Israel, which were holy unto the Lord, Put the holy ark in the house which Solomon the son of David king of Israel did build; it shall not be a burden upon your shoulders: serve now the Lord your God, and his people Israel,


And by the good hand of our God upon us they brought us a man of understanding, of the sons of Mahli, the son of Levi, the son of Israel; and Sherebi´ah, with his sons and his brethren, eighteen;


and Shab´bethai and Joz´abad, of the chief of the Levites, had the oversight of the outward business of the house of God.


Moreover the porters, Akkub, Talmon, and their brethren that kept the gates, were a hundred seventy and two.


and Azari´ah, Ezra, and Meshul´lam,


After him repaired the Levites, Rehum the son of Bani. Next unto him repaired Hashabi´ah, the ruler of the half part of Kei´lah, in his part.


And next to him repaired Ezer the son of Jesh´u-a, the ruler of Mizpah, another piece over against the going up to the armory at the turning of the wall.


After him repaired Benjamin and Hashub over against their house. After him repaired Azari´ah the son of Ma-asei´ah the son of Anani´ah by his house.


And all the people went their way to eat, and to drink, and to send portions, and to make great mirth, because they had understood the words that were declared unto them.


And Ezra the scribe stood upon a pulpit of wood, which they had made for the purpose; and beside him stood Mattithi´ah, and Shema, and Anai´ah, and Uri´jah, and Hilki´ah, and Ma-asei´ah, on his right hand; and on his left hand, Pedai´ah, and Mish´a-el, and Malchi´ah, and Hashum, and Hashbada´na, Zechari´ah, and Meshul´lam.


and Ezra blessed the Lord, the great God. And all the people answered, Amen, Amen, with lifting up their hands: and they bowed their heads, and worshipped the Lord with their faces to the ground.


So they read in the book in the law of God distinctly, and gave the sense, and caused them to understand the reading.


And they stood up in their place, and read in the book of the law of the Lord their God one fourth part of the day; and another fourth part they confessed, and worshipped the Lord their God.


Then stood up upon the stairs, of the Levites, Jesh´u-a, and Bani, Kad´mi-el, Shebani´ah, Bunni, Sherebi´ah, Bani, and Chena´ni, and cried with a loud voice unto the Lord their God.


and that ye may teach the children of Israel all the statutes which the Lord hath spoken unto them by the hand of Moses.


For the priest's lips should keep knowledge, and they should seek the law at his mouth: for he is the messenger of the Lord of hosts.


They shall teach Jacob thy judgments, and Israel thy law: they shall put incense before thee, and whole burnt sacrifice upon thine altar.
