And he that blasphemeth the name of the Lord, he shall surely be put to death, and all the congregation shall certainly stone him: as well the stranger, as he that is born in the land, when he blasphemeth the name of the Lord, shall be put to death.


But the soul that doeth aught presumptuously, whether he be born in the land, or a stranger, the same reproacheth the Lord; and that soul shall be cut off from among his people.


Then the high priest rent his clothes, saying, He hath spoken blasphemy; what further need have we of witnesses? behold, now ye have heard his blasphemy.


for he taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes.


Ye have heard the blasphemy: what think ye? And they all condemned him to be guilty of death.


Verily I say unto you, All sins shall be forgiven unto the sons of men, and blasphemies wherewith soever they shall blaspheme:


but he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Ghost hath never forgiveness, but is in danger of eternal damnation:


For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders,


And the scribes and the Pharisees began to reason, saying, Who is this which speaketh blasphemies? Who can forgive sins, but God alone?
