And his fame went throughout all Syria: and they brought unto him all sick people that were taken with divers diseases and torments, and those which were possessed with devils, and those which were lunatic, and those that had the palsy; and he healed them.


And it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus, that all the world should be taxed.


And all went to be taxed, every one into his own city.


Now in the fifteenth year of the reign of Tibe´ri-us Caesar, Pontius Pilate being governor of Judea, and Herod being tetrarch of Galilee, and his brother Philip tetrarch of Iturae´a and of the region of Trachoni´tis, and Lysa´ni-as the tetrarch of Abile´ne,


which was with the deputy of the country, Sergius Paulus, a prudent man; who called for Barnabas and Saul, and desired to hear the word of God.


And when Gal´li-o was the deputy of Achai´a, the Jews made insurrection with one accord against Paul, and brought him to the judgment seat,


Claudius Lys´i-as unto the most excellent governor Felix sendeth greeting.


And when he had thus spoken, the king rose up, and the governor, and Bernice, and they that sat with them:


After this man rose up Judas of Galilee in the days of the taxing, and drew away much people after him: he also perished; and all, even as many as obeyed him, were dispersed.
