In all the places wherein I have walked with all the children of Israel spake I a word with any of the tribes of Israel, whom I commanded to feed my people Israel, saying, Why build ye not me a house of cedar?


and I will dwell among the children of Israel, and will not forsake my people Israel.


I have surely built thee a house to dwell in, a settled place for thee to abide in for ever.


But will God indeed dwell on the earth? behold, the heaven and heaven of heavens cannot contain thee; how much less this house that I have builded?


Therefore was the wrath of the Lord kindled against his people, insomuch that he abhorred his own inheritance.


In Salem also is his tabernacle, and his dwelling place in Zion.


When God heard this, he was wroth, and greatly abhorred Israel:


And let them make me a sanctuary; that I may dwell among them.


And I will dwell among the children of Israel, and will be their God.


And they shall know that I am the Lord their God, that brought them forth out of the land of Egypt, that I may dwell among them: I am the Lord their God.


Do not abhor us, for thy name's sake; do not disgrace the throne of thy glory: remember, break not thy covenant with us.


The Lord hath cast off his altar, he hath abhorred his sanctuary, he hath given up into the hand of the enemy the walls of her palaces; they have made a noise in the house of the Lord, as in the day of a solemn feast.


And ye shall know that I am in the midst of Israel, and that I am the Lord your God, and none else: and my people shall never be ashamed.


And ye shall not walk in the manners of the nation, which I cast out before you: for they committed all these things, and therefore I abhorred them.


and if ye shall despise my statutes, or if your soul abhor my judgments, so that ye will not do all my commandments, but that ye break my covenant:


The land also shall be left of them, and shall enjoy her sabbaths, while she lieth desolate without them: and they shall accept of the punishment of their iniquity; because, even because they despised my judgments, and because their soul abhorred my statutes.


And yet for all that, when they be in the land of their enemies, I will not cast them away, neither will I abhor them, to destroy them utterly, and to break my covenant with them: for I am the Lord their God.


Three shepherds also I cut off in one month; and my soul loathed them, and their soul also abhorred me.


in whom ye also are builded together for a habitation of God through the Spirit.


And when the Lord saw it, he abhorred them, because of the provoking of his sons, and of his daughters.


Notwithstanding, if the land of your possession be unclean, then pass ye over unto the land of the possession of the Lord, wherein the Lord's tabernacle dwelleth, and take possession among us: but rebel not against the Lord, nor rebel against us, in building you an altar besides the altar of the Lord our God.


And Phin´ehas the son of Ele-a´zar the priest said unto the children of Reuben, and to the children of Gad, and to the children of Manas´seh, This day we perceive that the Lord is among us, because ye have not committed this trespass against the Lord: now ye have delivered the children of Israel out of the hand of the Lord.


And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.


Therefore are they before the throne of God, and serve him day and night in his temple: and he that sitteth on the throne shall dwell among them.
