And the bones of Saul and Jonathan his son buried they in the country of Benjamin in Zelah, in the sepulchre of Kish his father: and they performed all that the king commanded. And after that God was entreated for the land.


Heleb the son of Ba´anah, a Netoph´athite, It´tai the son of Ri´bai out of Gib´e-ah of the children of Benjamin,


And the king and his men went to Jerusalem unto the Jeb´usites, the inhabitants of the land: which spake unto David, saying, Except thou take away the blind and the lame, thou shalt not come in hither: thinking, David cannot come in hither.


And David said on that day, Whosoever getteth up to the gutter, and smiteth the Jeb´usites, and the lame and the blind, that are hated of David's soul, he shall be chief and captain. Wherefore they said, The blind and the lame shall not come into the house.


These were heads of the fathers, by their generations, chief men. These dwelt in Jerusalem.


they are gone over the passage: they have taken up their lodging at Geba; Ramah is afraid; Gib´e-ah of Saul is fled.


O ye children of Benjamin, gather yourselves to flee out of the midst of Jerusalem, and blow the trumpet in Teko´a, and set up a sign of fire in Beth–hac´cerem: for evil appeareth out of the north, and great destruction.


O Israel, thou hast sinned from the days of Gib´e-ah: there they stood: the battle in Gib´e-ah against the children of iniquity did not overtake them.


The sons of Benjamin after their families: of Bela, the family of the Be´laites: of Ashbel, the family of the Ash´belites: of Ahi´ram, the family of the Ahi´ramites:


To many thou shalt give the more inheritance, and to few thou shalt give the less inheritance: to every one shall his inheritance be given according to those that were numbered of him.


And ye shall divide the land by lot for an inheritance among your families; and to the more ye shall give the more inheritance, and to the fewer ye shall give the less inheritance: every man's inheritance shall be in the place where his lot falleth; according to the tribes of your fathers ye shall inherit.


As for the Jeb´usites the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the children of Judah could not drive them out: but the Jeb´usites dwell with the children of Judah at Jerusalem unto this day.


and the border went up by the valley of the son of Hinnom unto the south side of the Jeb´usite; the same is Jerusalem: and the border went up to the top of the mountain that lieth before the valley of Hinnom westward, which is at the end of the valley of the giants northward:


and the border came down to the end of the mountain that lieth before the valley of the son of Hinnom, and which is in the valley of the giants on the north, and descended to the valley of Hinnom, to the side of Jeb´usi on the south, and descended to En–ro´gel,


and Rekem, and Ir´peel, and Tar´alah,


And the second lot came forth to Simeon, even for the tribe of the children of Simeon according to their families: and their inheritance was within the inheritance of the children of Judah.


And the children of Benjamin did not drive out the Jeb´usites that inhabited Jerusalem; but the Jeb´usites dwell with the children of Benjamin in Jerusalem unto this day.


But the man would not tarry that night, but he rose up and departed, and came over against Jebus, which is Jerusalem; and there were with him two asses saddled, his concubine also was with him.


And Saul also went home to Gib´e-ah; and there went with him a band of men, whose hearts God had touched.
