Of the tribe of Judah, Caleb the son of Jephun´neh.


Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.


So Joshua took the whole land, according to all that the Lord said unto Moses; and Joshua gave it for an inheritance unto Israel according to their divisions by their tribes. And the land rested from war.


And Joshua blessed him, and gave unto Caleb the son of Jephun´neh Hebron for an inheritance.


And the name of Hebron before was Kir´jath–ar´ba; which Arba was a great man among the An´akim. And the land had rest from war.
