until the Lord removed Israel out of his sight, as he had said by all his servants the prophets. So was Israel carried away out of their own land to Assyria unto this day.


For through the anger of the Lord it came to pass in Jerusalem and Judah, until he had cast them out from his presence, that Zedeki´ah rebelled against the king of Babylon.


And he gathered all Judah and Benjamin, and the strangers with them out of E´phra-im and Manas´seh, and out of Simeon: for they fell to him out of Israel in abundance, when they saw that the Lord his God was with him.


Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy Holy Spirit from me.


For before the child shall know to refuse the evil, and choose the good, the land that thou abhorrest shall be forsaken of both her kings.


Then said the Lord unto me, Though Moses and Samuel stood before me, yet my mind could not be toward this people: cast them out of my sight, and let them go forth.


And when this people, or the prophet, or a priest, shall ask thee, saying, What is the burden of the Lord? thou shalt then say unto them, What burden? I will even forsake you, saith the Lord.


therefore, behold, I, even I, will utterly forget you, and I will forsake you, and the city that I gave you and your fathers, and cast you out of my presence:


And I saw, when for all the causes whereby backsliding Israel committed adultery, I had put her away, and given her a bill of divorce; yet her treacherous sister Judah feared not, but went and played the harlot also.

For a voice of wailing is heard out of Zion, How are we spoiled! we are greatly confounded, because we have forsaken the land, because our dwellings have cast us out.

Wherefore say unto them, Thus saith the Lord God; Ye eat with the blood, and lift up your eyes toward your idols, and shed blood: and shall ye possess the land?

E´phra-im feedeth on wind, and followeth after the east wind: he daily increaseth lies and desolation; and they do make a covenant with the Assyrians, and oil is carried into Egypt.


Samaria shall become desolate; for she hath rebelled against her God: they shall fall by the sword: their infants shall be dashed in pieces, and their women with child shall be ripped up.


Woe unto them! for they have fled from me: destruction unto them! because they have transgressed against me: though I have redeemed them, yet they have spoken lies against me.


E´phra-im, as I saw Tyrus, is planted in a pleasant place: but E´phra-im shall bring forth his children to the murderer.


They shall not dwell in the Lord's land; but E´phra-im shall return to Egypt, and they shall eat unclean things in Assyria.


They have deeply corrupted themselves, as in the days of Gib´e-ah: therefore he will remember their iniquity, he will visit their sins.


Then I said, I am cast out of thy sight; yet I will look again toward thy holy temple.


Of the children of Joseph, namely, of the children of E´phra-im, by their generations, after their families, by the house of their fathers, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war;
