And the border of the Canaanites was from Sidon, as thou comest to Gerar, unto Gaza; as thou goest unto Sodom, and Gomor´rah, and Admah, and Zebo´im, even unto Lasha.


For he had dominion over all the region on this side the river, from Tiphsah even to Azzah, over all the kings on this side the river: and he had peace on all sides round about him.


Rejoice not thou, whole Palesti´na, because the rod of him that smote thee is broken: for out of the serpent's root shall come forth a cockatrice, and his fruit shall be a fiery flying serpent.


and all the mingled people, and all the kings of the land of Uz, and all the kings of the land of the Philistines, and Ash´kelon, and Azzah, and Ekron, and the remnant of Ashdod,


Thus saith the Lord God; Because the Philistines have dealt by revenge, and have taken vengeance with a despiteful heart, to destroy it for the old hatred;


therefore thus saith the Lord God; Behold, I will stretch out mine hand upon the Philistines, and I will cut off the Cher´ethim, and destroy the remnant of the seacoast.


Yea, and what have ye to do with me, O Tyre, and Zidon, and all the coasts of Palestine? will ye render me a recompense? and if ye recompense me, swiftly and speedily will I return your recompense upon your own head;
