And Ahab said to Eli´jah, Hast thou found me, O mine enemy? And he answered, I have found thee: because thou hast sold thyself to work evil in the sight of the Lord.

And when he was in the gate of Benjamin, a captain of the ward was there, whose name was Iri´jah, the son of Shelemi´ah, the son of Hanani´ah; and he took Jeremiah the prophet, saying, Thou fallest away to the Chalde´ans.


Go not forth into the field, nor walk by the way; for the sword of the enemy and fear is on every side.


In thee are men that carry tales to shed blood: and in thee they eat upon the mountains: in the midst of thee they commit lewdness.


Then the presidents and princes sought to find occasion against Daniel concerning the kingdom; but they could find none occasion nor fault; forasmuch as he was faithful, neither was there any error or fault found in him.


And they watched him, and sent forth spies, which should feign themselves just men, that they might take hold of his words, that so they might deliver him unto the power and authority of the governor.
