And Abraham drew near, and said, Wilt thou also destroy the righteous with the wicked?


And thou, Solomon my son, know thou the God of thy father, and serve him with a perfect heart and with a willing mind: for the Lord searcheth all hearts, and understandeth all the imaginations of the thoughts: if thou seek him, he will be found of thee; but if thou forsake him, he will cast thee off for ever.


and he went out to meet Asa, and said unto him, Hear ye me, Asa, and all Judah and Benjamin; The Lord is with you, while ye be with him; and if ye seek him, he will be found of you; but if ye forsake him, he will forsake you.


not for any injustice in mine hands: also my prayer is pure.


The righteous also shall hold on his way, and he that hath clean hands shall be stronger and stronger.


If I wash myself with snow water, and make my hands never so clean;


I hate vain thoughts: but thy law do I love.


The Lord is nigh unto all them that call upon him, to all that call upon him in truth.


The Lord rewarded me according to my righteousness; according to the cleanness of my hands hath he recompensed me.


He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully.


I will wash mine hands in innocency: so will I compass thine altar, O Lord:


Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.


Verily I have cleansed my heart in vain, and washed my hands in innocency.


But it is good for me to draw near to God: I have put my trust in the Lord God, that I may declare all thy works.


Every one that is found shall be thrust through; and every one that is joined unto them shall fall by the sword.


Wherefore the Lord said, Forasmuch as this people draw near me with their mouth, and with their lips do honor me, but have removed their heart far from me, and their fear toward me is taught by the precept of men:


Yet they seek me daily, and delight to know my ways, as a nation that did righteousness, and forsook not the ordinance of their God: they ask of me the ordinances of justice; they take delight in approaching to God.


At that time shall it be said to this people and to Jerusalem, A dry wind of the high places in the wilderness toward the daughter of my people, not to fan, nor to cleanse,


O Jerusalem, wash thine heart from wickedness, that thou mayest be saved. How long shall thy vain thoughts lodge within thee?


Thou drewest near in the day that I called upon thee: thou saidst, Fear not.


Cast away from you all your transgressions, whereby ye have transgressed; and make you a new heart and a new spirit: for why will ye die, O house of Israel?


Therefore say thou unto them, Thus saith the Lord of hosts; Turn ye unto me, saith the Lord of hosts, and I will turn unto you, saith the Lord of hosts.


Even from the days of your fathers ye are gone away from mine ordinances, and have not kept them. Return unto me, and I will return unto you, saith the Lord of hosts. But ye said, Wherein shall we return?


Either make the tree good, and his fruit good; or else make the tree corrupt, and his fruit corrupt: for the tree is known by his fruit.


Why do thy disciples transgress the tradition of the elders? for they wash not their hands when they eat bread.


When Pilate saw that he could prevail nothing, but that rather a tumult was made, he took water, and washed his hands before the multitude, saying, I am innocent of the blood of this just person: see ye to it.


and put no difference between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith.


Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.


I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting.


let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.


For the law made nothing perfect, but the bringing in of a better hope did; by the which we draw nigh unto God.


A double-minded man is unstable in all his ways.


But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be entreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.


Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently:


The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us, (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ:


And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.


And Saul built an altar unto the Lord: the same was the first altar that he built unto the Lord.
