And it shall come to pass, that him that escapeth the sword of Haz´a-el shall Jehu slay: and him that escapeth from the sword of Jehu shall Eli´sha slay.


For he is cast into a net by his own feet, and he walketh upon a snare.


And he shall be for a sanctuary; but for a stone of stumbling and for a rock of offense to both the houses of Israel, for a gin and for a snare to the inhabitants of Jerusalem.


Therefore thus saith the Lord, Behold, I will bring evil upon them, which they shall not be able to escape; and though they shall cry unto me, I will not hearken unto them.


And death shall be chosen rather than life by all the residue of them that remain of this evil family, which remain in all the places whither I have driven them, saith the Lord of hosts.


Thou hast called as in a solemn day my terrors round about, so that in the day of the Lord's anger none escaped nor remained: those that I have swaddled and brought up hath mine enemy consumed.


Fear and a snare is come upon us, desolation and destruction.


Ye have feared the sword; and I will bring a sword upon you, saith the Lord God.


My net also will I spread upon him, and he shall be taken in my snare: and I will bring him to Babylon to the land of the Chalde´ans; yet shall he not see it, though he shall die there.


For thus saith the Lord God; How much more when I send my four sore judgments upon Jerusalem, the sword, and the famine, and the noisome beast, and the pestilence, to cut off from it man and beast?


As if a man did flee from a lion, and a bear met him; or went into the house, and leaned his hand on the wall, and a serpent bit him.
