Genesis 50:11 - King James Version - American Edition

11 And when the inhabitants of the land, the Canaanites, saw the mourning in the floor of Atad, they said, This is a grievous mourning to the Egyptians: wherefore the name of it was called A´bel–miz´raim, which is beyond Jordan.

And there was a strife between the herdmen of Abram's cattle and the herdmen of Lot's cattle: and the Canaanite and the Per´izzite dwelt then in the land.


And Abraham said unto him, Beware thou that thou bring not my son thither again.


And Jacob said to Simeon and Levi, Ye have troubled me to make me to stink among the inhabitants of the land, among the Canaanites and the Per´izzites: and I being few in number, they shall gather themselves together against me, and slay me; and I shall be destroyed, I and my house.


And they came to the threshingfloor of Atad, which is beyond Jordan; and there they mourned with a great and very sore lamentation: and he made a mourning for his father seven days.


And his sons did unto him according as he commanded them:


Are they not on the other side Jordan, by the way where the sun goeth down, in the land of the Canaanites, which dwell in the champaign over against Gilgal, beside the plains of Moreh?


I pray thee, let me go over, and see the good land that is beyond Jordan, that goodly mountain, and Lebanon.


Get thee up into the top of Pisgah, and lift up thine eyes westward, and northward, and southward, and eastward, and behold it with thine eyes: for thou shalt not go over this Jordan.


and the golden mice, according to the number of all the cities of the Philistines belonging to the five lords, both of fenced cities, and of country villages, even unto the great stone of Abel, whereon they set down the ark of the Lord: which stone remaineth unto this day in the field of Joshua, the Beth–she´mite.
