let people serve thee, and nations bow down to thee: be lord over thy brethren, and let thy mother's sons bow down to thee: cursed be every one that curseth thee, and blessed be he that blesseth thee.


And she conceived again, and bare a son; and she said, Now will I praise the Lord: therefore she called his name Judah; and left bearing.


And Joseph was the governor over the land, and he it was that sold to all the people of the land: and Joseph's brethren came, and bowed down themselves before him with their faces to the earth.


And the sons of Judah; Er, and Onan, and Shelah, and Pharez, and Zarah: but Er and Onan died in the land of Canaan. And the sons of Pharez were Hezron and Hamul.


Thou hast also given me the necks of mine enemies, that I might destroy them that hate me.


And Jo´ab gave up the sum of the number of the people unto the king: and there were in Israel eight hundred thousand valiant men that drew the sword; and the men of Judah were five hundred thousand men.


So all the elders of Israel came to the king to Hebron; and king David made a league with them in Hebron before the Lord: and they anointed David king over Israel.


Howbeit the Lord God of Israel chose me before all the house of my father to be king over Israel for ever: for he hath chosen Judah to be the ruler; and of the house of Judah, the house of my father; and among the sons of my father he liked me to make me king over all Israel:


For Judah prevailed above his brethren, and of him came the chief ruler; but the birthright was Joseph's:)


And Asa had an army of men that bare targets and spears, out of Judah three hundred thousand; and out of Benjamin, that bare shields and drew bows, two hundred and fourscore thousand: all these were mighty men of valor.


And he gathered all Judah and Benjamin, and the strangers with them out of E´phra-im and Manas´seh, and out of Simeon: for they fell to him out of Israel in abundance, when they saw that the Lord his God was with him.


And he placed forces in all the fenced cities of Judah, and set garrisons in the land of Judah, and in the cities of E´phra-im, which Asa his father had taken.


Nevertheless, divers of Asher and Manas´seh and of Zeb´ulun humbled themselves, and came to Jerusalem.


In Judah is God known: his name is great in Israel.


Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.


while they see vanity unto thee, while they divine a lie unto thee, to bring thee upon the necks of them that are slain, of the wicked, whose day is come, when their iniquity shall have an end.


those that were numbered of them, even of the tribe of Judah, were threescore and fourteen thousand and six hundred.


In the first place went the standard of the camp of the children of Judah according to their armies: and over his host was Nahshon the son of Ammin´adab.


And the sons of Judah after their families were; of Shelah, the family of the She´lanites: of Pharez, the family of the Pharzites: of Zerah, the family of the Zarhites.


These are the families of Judah according to those that were numbered of them, threescore and sixteen thousand and five hundred.


And this is the blessing of Judah: and he said, Hear, Lord, the voice of Judah, and bring him unto his people: let his hands be sufficient for him; and be thou a help to him from his enemies.


from henceforth expecting till his enemies be made his footstool.


For it is evident that our Lord sprang out of Judah; of which tribe Moses spake nothing concerning priesthood.


And it came to pass, when they brought out those kings unto Joshua, that Joshua called for all the men of Israel, and said unto the captains of the men of war which went with him, Come near, put your feet upon the necks of these kings. And they came near, and put their feet upon the necks of them.


This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Judah according to their families.


And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever.


And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof.


And the children of Israel arose, and went up to the house of God, and asked counsel of God, and said, Which of us shall go up first to the battle against the children of Benjamin? And the Lord said, Judah shall go up first.
