And that food shall be for store to the land against the seven years of famine, which shall be in the land of Egypt; that the land perish not through the famine.


And Ahab said unto Obadi´ah, Go into the land, unto all fountains of water, and unto all brooks: peradventure we may find grass to save the horses and mules alive, that we lose not all the beasts.


Who is the wise man, that may understand this? and who is he to whom the mouth of the Lord hath spoken, that he may declare it, for what the land perisheth and is burned up like a wilderness, that none passeth through?


They that be slain with the sword are better than they that be slain with hunger: for these pine away, stricken through for want of the fruits of the field.


Now there came a dearth over all the land of Egypt and Canaan, and great affliction: and our fathers found no sustenance.
