Then Abim´elech called Abraham, and said unto him, What hast thou done unto us? and what have I offended thee, that thou hast brought on me and on my kingdom a great sin? thou hast done deeds unto me that ought not to be done.


And it came to pass at that time, that Judah went down from his brethren, and turned in to a certain Adul´lamite, whose name was Hirah.


And she arose, and went away, and laid by her veil from her, and put on the garments of her widowhood.


Then he asked the men of that place, saying, Where is the harlot, that was openly by the wayside? And they said, There was no harlot in this place.


But Amnon had a friend, whose name was Jon´adab, the son of Shim´e-ah David's brother: and Jon´adab was a very subtile man.
