And the border of the Canaanites was from Sidon, as thou comest to Gerar, unto Gaza; as thou goest unto Sodom, and Gomor´rah, and Admah, and Zebo´im, even unto Lasha.


And Abram journeyed, going on still toward the south.


And Abram went up out of Egypt, he, and his wife, and all that he had, and Lot with him, into the south.


And they returned, and came to En–mish´pat, which is Kadesh, and smote all the country of the Amal´ekites, and also the Amorites, that dwelt in Haz´azon–ta´mar.


Now Sarai, Abram's wife, bare him no children: and she had a handmaid, an Egyptian, whose name was Hagar.


Wherefore the well was called Beer–la´hai–roi: behold, it is between Kadesh and Bered.


And the angel of the Lord found her by a fountain of water in the wilderness, by the fountain in the way to Shur.


And the Lord appeared unto him in the plains of Mamre: and he sat in the tent door in the heat of the day;


And Abraham sojourned in the Philistines' land many days.


And Isaac came from the way of the well La´hai–roi; for he dwelt in the south country.


And they dwelt from Hav´ilah unto Shur, that is before Egypt, as thou goest toward Assyria: and he died in the presence of all his brethren.


And there was a famine in the land, besides the first famine that was in the days of Abraham. And Isaac went unto Abim´elech king of the Philistines unto Gerar.


And the herdmen of Gerar did strive with Isaac's herdmen, saying, The water is ours: and he called the name of the well Esek; because they strove with him.


Then Abim´elech went to him from Gerar, and Ahuz´zath one of his friends, and Phichol the chief captain of his army.


The voice of the Lord shaketh the wilderness; the Lord shaketh the wilderness of Kadesh.


So Moses brought Israel from the Red sea, and they went out into the wilderness of Shur; and they went three days in the wilderness, and found no water.


And they went and came to Moses, and to Aaron, and to all the congregation of the children of Israel, unto the wilderness of Paran, to Kadesh; and brought back word unto them, and unto all the congregation, and showed them the fruit of the land.


and when we cried unto the Lord, he heard our voice, and sent an angel, and hath brought us forth out of Egypt: and, behold, we are in Kadesh, a city in the uttermost of thy border.


And when we departed from Horeb, we went through all that great and terrible wilderness, which ye saw by the way of the mountain of the Amorites, as the Lord our God commanded us; and we came to Ka´desh–barne´a.


because ye trespassed against me among the children of Israel at the waters of Mer´ibah–Ka´desh, in the wilderness of Zin; because ye sanctified me not in the midst of the children of Israel.


And Saul smote the Amal´ekites from Hav´ilah until thou comest to Shur, that is over against Egypt.
