Now these are the generations of Terah: Terah begat Abram, Nahor, and Haran; and Haran begat Lot.


And Terah took Abram his son, and Lot the son of Haran his son's son, and Sarai his daughter-in-law, his son Abram's wife; and they went forth with them from Ur of the Chaldees, to go into the land of Canaan; and they came unto Haran, and dwelt there.


And Lot also, which went with Abram, had flocks, and herds, and tents.


And Abram was fourscore and six years old, when Hagar bare Ish´ma-el to Abram.


And Sarai, Abram's wife, took Hagar her maid the Egyptian, after Abram had dwelt ten years in the land of Canaan, and gave her to her husband Abram to be his wife.


And these are the days of the years of Abraham's life which he lived, a hundred threescore and fifteen years.


And Jacob went out from Beer–sheba, and went toward Haran.


Then came he out of the land of the Chalde´ans, and dwelt in Haran: and from thence, when his father was dead, he removed him into this land, wherein ye now dwell.


By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went.


And so, after he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise.
