and the Ar´vadite, and the Zem´arite, and the Ha´mathite: and afterward were the families of the Canaanites spread abroad.


These are the sons of Ham, after their families, after their tongues, in their countries, and in their nations.


that these made war with Bera king of Sodom, and with Birsha king of Gomor´rah, Shinab king of Admah, and Sheme´ber king of Zeboi´im, and the king of Bela, which is Zo´ar.


All these were joined together in the vale of Siddim, which is the salt sea.


And the Lord said, Because the cry of Sodom and Gomor´rah is great, and because their sin is very grievous,


And Abraham journeyed from thence toward the south country, and dwelt between Kadesh and Shur, and sojourned in Gerar.


And there was a famine in the land, besides the first famine that was in the days of Abraham. And Isaac went unto Abim´elech king of the Philistines unto Gerar.


So the Lord smote the Ethiopians before Asa, and before Judah; and the Ethiopians fled.


And Asa and the people that were with him pursued them unto Gerar: and the Ethiopians were overthrown, that they could not recover themselves; for they were destroyed before the Lord, and before his host; and they carried away very much spoil.

The word of the Lord that came to Jeremiah the prophet against the Philistines, before that Pharaoh smote Gaza.


Son of man, set thy face against Zidon, and prophesy against it,


How shall I give thee up, E´phra-im? how shall I deliver thee, Israel? how shall I make thee as Admah? how shall I set thee as Zebo´im? mine heart is turned within me, my repentings are kindled together.

When the Most High divided to the nations their inheritance, when he separated the sons of Adam, he set the bounds of the people according to the number of the children of Israel.


and Hebron, and Rehob, and Hammon, and Kanah, even unto great Zidon;


Then went Samson to Gaza, and saw there a harlot, and went in unto her.


and they encamped against them, and destroyed the increase of the earth, till thou come unto Gaza, and left no sustenance for Israel, neither sheep, nor ox, nor ass.


and another company turned the way to Beth–ho´ron: and another company turned to the way of the border that looketh to the valley of Zebo´im toward the wilderness.
