What is man, that thou shouldest magnify him? and that thou shouldest set thine heart upon him?


Trust not in oppression, and become not vain in robbery: if riches increase, set not your heart upon them.


And the magicians of Egypt did so with their enchantments: and Pharaoh's heart was hardened, neither did he hearken unto them; as the Lord had said.


And all the Egyptians digged round about the river for water to drink; for they could not drink of the water of the river.


He that feared the word of the Lord among the servants of Pharaoh made his servants and his cattle flee into the houses:


and he that regarded not the word of the Lord left his servants and his cattle in the field.


Bow down thine ear, and hear the words of the wise, and apply thine heart unto my knowledge.


Then I saw, and considered it well: I looked upon it, and received instruction.


Happy is the man that feareth always: but he that hardeneth his heart shall fall into mischief.


He, that being often reproved hardeneth his neck, shall suddenly be destroyed, and that without remedy.


Lord, when thy hand is lifted up, they will not see: but they shall see, and be ashamed for their envy at the people; yea, the fire of thine enemies shall devour them.


And thou saidst, I shall be a lady for ever: so that thou didst not lay these things to thy heart, neither didst remember the latter end of it.


Yet they were not afraid, nor rent their garments, neither the king, nor any of his servants that heard all these words.


O Lord, are not thine eyes upon the truth? thou hast stricken them, but they have not grieved; thou hast consumed them, but they have refused to receive correction: they have made their faces harder than a rock; they have refused to return.


And the man said unto me, Son of man, behold with thine eyes, and hear with thine ears, and set thine heart upon all that I shall show thee; for to the intent that I might show them unto thee art thou brought hither: declare all that thou seest to the house of Israel.


Behold ye among the heathen, and regard, and wonder marvelously: for I will work a work in your days, which ye will not believe, though it be told you.


If ye will not hear, and if ye will not lay it to heart, to give glory unto my name, saith the Lord of hosts, I will even send a curse upon you, and I will curse your blessings: yea, I have cursed them already, because ye do not lay it to heart.


and he said unto them, Set your hearts unto all the words which I testify among you this day, which ye shall command your children to observe to do, all the words of this law.


And about the time of her death the women that stood by her said unto her, Fear not; for thou hast borne a son. But she answered not, neither did she regard it.
