And all the congregation of the children of Israel journeyed from the wilderness of Sin, after their journeys, according to the commandment of the Lord, and pitched in Reph´idim: and there was no water for the people to drink.


Then came Am´alek, and fought with Israel in Reph´idim.


and Jethro, Moses' father-in-law, came with his sons and his wife unto Moses into the wilderness, where he encamped at the mount of God:


Now Moses kept the flock of Jethro his father-in-law, the priest of Mid´i-an: and he led the flock to the back side of the desert, and came to the mountain of God, even to Horeb.


And he said, Certainly I will be with thee; and this shall be a token unto thee, that I have sent thee: When thou hast brought forth the people out of Egypt, ye shall serve God upon this mountain.


And the Lord spake unto Moses in the wilderness of Si´nai, in the tabernacle of the congregation, on the first day of the second month, in the second year after they were come out of the land of Egypt, saying,


And they departed from Reph´idim, and pitched in the wilderness of Si´nai.


And when forty years were expired, there appeared to him in the wilderness of mount Si´nai an angel of the Lord in a flame of fire in a bush.


This is he, that was in the church in the wilderness with the angel which spake to him in the mount Si´nai, and with our fathers: who received the lively oracles to give unto us:


Which things are an allegory: for these are the two covenants; the one from the mount Si´nai, which gendereth to bondage, which is Hagar.
