When I cry unto thee, then shall mine enemies turn back: this I know; for God is for me.


So Joshua did as Moses had said to him, and fought with Am´alek: and Moses, Aaron, and Hur went up to the top of the hill.


But Moses' hands were heavy; and they took a stone, and put it under him, and he sat thereon; and Aaron and Hur stayed up his hands, the one on the one side, and the other on the other side; and his hands were steady until the going down of the sun.


And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;


I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting.


Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.


For Joshua drew not his hand back, wherewith he stretched out the spear, until he had utterly destroyed all the inhabitants of A´i.
