Then Asa was wroth with the seer, and put him in a prison house; for he was in a rage with him because of this thing. And Asa oppressed some of the people the same time.


And it came to pass, as he talked with him, that the king said unto him, Art thou made of the king's counsel? forbear; why shouldest thou be smitten? Then the prophet forbare, and said, I know that God hath determined to destroy thee, because thou hast done this, and hast not hearkened unto my counsel.


Not so: go now ye that are men, and serve the Lord; for that ye did desire. And they were driven out from Pharaoh's presence.


and the name of the other was Eli-e´zer; for the God of my father, said he, was mine help, and delivered me from the sword of Pharaoh:


but prophesy not again any more at Beth–el: for it is the king's chapel, and it is the king's court.


By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king: for he endured, as seeing him who is invisible.
