If he cut off, and shut up, or gather together, then who can hinder him?


And the magicians could not stand before Moses because of the boils; for the boil was upon the magicians, and upon all the Egyptians.


But he that cometh against him shall do according to his own will, and none shall stand before him: and he shall stand in the glorious land, which by his hand shall be consumed.


I saw the ram pushing westward, and northward, and southward; so that no beasts might stand before him, neither was there any that could deliver out of his hand; but he did according to his will, and became great.


Yet destroyed I the Amorite before them, whose height was like the height of the cedars, and he was strong as the oaks; yet I destroyed his fruit from above, and his roots from beneath.


Who can stand before his indignation? and who can abide in the fierceness of his anger? his fury is poured out like fire, and the rocks are thrown down by him.


And they ascended by the south, and came unto Hebron; where Ahi´man, She´shai, and Tal´mai, the children of Anak, were. (Now Hebron was built seven years before Zo´an in Egypt.)


Nevertheless the people be strong that dwell in the land, and the cities are walled, and very great: and moreover we saw the children of Anak there.


And there we saw the giants, the sons of Anak, which come of the giants: and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight.


Whither shall we go up? our brethren have discouraged our heart, saying, The people is greater and taller than we; the cities are great and walled up to heaven; and moreover we have seen the sons of the An´akim there.


a people great, and many, and tall, as the An´akim; but the Lord destroyed them before them; and they succeeded them, and dwelt in their stead:


And he shall deliver their kings into thine hand, and thou shalt destroy their name from under heaven: there shall no man be able to stand before thee, until thou have destroyed them.


And at that time came Joshua, and cut off the An´akim from the mountains, from Hebron, from Debir, from Anab, and from all the mountains of Judah, and from all the mountains of Israel: Joshua destroyed them utterly with their cities.


There was none of the An´akim left in the land of the children of Israel: only in Gaza, in Gath, and in Ashdod, there remained.


And Caleb drove thence the three sons of Anak, She´shai, and Ahi´man, and Tal´mai, the children of Anak.
