And in the fourteenth year came Chedorla-o´mer, and the kings that were with him, and smote the Reph´a-im in Ash´teroth–karna´im, and the Zuzim in Ham, and the Emim in Shaveh Kiri-atha´im,


And this is the fashion which thou shalt make it of: The length of the ark shall be three hundred cubits, the breadth of it fifty cubits, and the height of it thirty cubits.


And it came to pass, after the year was expired, at the time when kings go forth to battle, that David sent Jo´ab, and his servants with him, and all Israel; and they destroyed the children of Ammon, and besieged Rabbah. But David tarried still at Jerusalem.


And Jo´ab fought against Rabbah of the children of Ammon, and took the royal city.


Therefore, behold, the days come, saith the Lord, that I will cause an alarm of war to be heard in Rabbah of the Ammonites; and it shall be a desolate heap, and her daughters shall be burned with fire: then shall Israel be heir unto them that were his heirs, saith the Lord.


Appoint a way, that the sword may come to Rabbath of the Ammonites, and to Judah in Jerusalem the defensed.


And I will make Rabbah a stable for camels, and the Ammonites a couching place for flocks: and ye shall know that I am the Lord.


but I will kindle a fire in the wall of Rabbah, and it shall devour the palaces thereof, with shouting in the day of battle, with a tempest in the day of the whirlwind:


Yet destroyed I the Amorite before them, whose height was like the height of the cedars, and he was strong as the oaks; yet I destroyed his fruit from above, and his roots from beneath.


which also were accounted giants, as the An´akim; but the Moabites call them Emim.


(That also was accounted a land of giants: giants dwelt therein in old time; and the Ammonites call them Zamzum´mim;


and the coast of Og king of Bashan, which was of the remnant of the giants, that dwelt at Ash´taroth and at Ed´re-i,


all the kingdom of Og in Bashan, which reigned in Ash´taroth and in Ed´re-i, who remained of the remnant of the giants: for these did Moses smite, and cast them out.


And he measured the wall thereof, a hundred and forty and four cubits, according to the measure of a man, that is, of the angel.


And there went out a champion out of the camp of the Philistines, named Goli´ath, of Gath, whose height was six cubits and a span.
