And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, I have dreamed a dream, and there is none that can interpret it: and I have heard say of thee, that thou canst understand a dream to interpret it.


unto whom the prince of the eunuchs gave names: for he gave unto Daniel the name of Belteshaz´zar; and to Hanani´ah, of Shadrach; and to Mish´a-el, of Meshach; and to Azari´ah, of Abed´nego.


But at the last Daniel came in before me, whose name was Belteshaz´zar, according to the name of my god, and in whom is the spirit of the holy gods: and before him I told the dream, saying,


forasmuch as an excellent spirit, and knowledge, and understanding, interpreting of dreams, and showing of hard sentences, and dissolving of doubts, were found in the same Daniel, whom the king named Belteshaz´zar: now let Daniel be called, and he will show the interpretation.


and I have heard of thee, that thou canst make interpretations, and dissolve doubts: now if thou canst read the writing, and make known to me the interpretation thereof, thou shalt be clothed with scarlet, and have a chain of gold about thy neck, and shalt be the third ruler in the kingdom.


In the first year of Belshaz´zar king of Babylon, Daniel had a dream and visions of his head upon his bed: then he wrote the dream, and told the sum of the matters.


And Saul said to David, Thou art not able to go against this Philistine to fight with him: for thou art but a youth, and he a man of war from his youth.
