And in those days Peter stood up in the midst of the disciples, and said, (the number of names together were about a hundred and twenty,)


But when the Jews saw the multitudes, they were filled with envy, and spake against those things which were spoken by Paul, contradicting and blaspheming.


But the Jews stirred up the devout and honorable women, and the chief men of the city, and raised persecution against Paul and Barnabas, and expelled them out of their coasts.


And there came thither certain Jews from An´ti-och and Ico´ni-um, who persuaded the people, and, having stoned Paul, drew him out of the city, supposing he had been dead.


But the multitude of the city was divided: and part held with the Jews, and part with the apostles.


And when there was an assault made both of the Gentiles, and also of the Jews with their rulers, to use them despitefully, and to stone them,


But when the Jews of Thessaloni´ca had knowledge that the word of God was preached of Paul at Beroe´a, they came thither also, and stirred up the people.


But the Jews which believed not, moved with envy, took unto them certain lewd fellows of the baser sort, and gathered a company, and set all the city on an uproar, and assaulted the house of Jason, and sought to bring them out to the people.


And when Gal´li-o was the deputy of Achai´a, the Jews made insurrection with one accord against Paul, and brought him to the judgment seat,


For ye, brethren, became followers of the churches of God which in Judea are in Christ Jesus: for ye also have suffered like things of your own countrymen, even as they have of the Jews:
