And, behold, there cometh one of the rulers of the synagogue, Jai´rus by name; and when he saw him, he fell at his feet,


The law and the prophets were until John: since that time the kingdom of God is preached, and every man presseth into it.


Men and brethren, this Scripture must needs have been fulfilled, which the Holy Ghost by the mouth of David spake before concerning Judas, which was guide to them that took Jesus.


For they that dwell at Jerusalem, and their rulers, because they knew him not, nor yet the voices of the prophets which are read every sabbath day, they have fulfilled them in condemning him.


For Moses of old time hath in every city them that preach him, being read in the synagogues every sabbath day.


And when there had been much disputing, Peter rose up, and said unto them, Men and brethren, ye know how that a good while ago God made choice among us, that the Gentiles by my mouth should hear the word of the gospel, and believe.


Then all the Greeks took Sos´thenes, the chief ruler of the synagogue, and beat him before the judgment seat. And Gal´li-o cared for none of those things.

or he that exhorteth, on exhortation: he that giveth, let him do it with simplicity; he that ruleth, with diligence; he that showeth mercy, with cheerfulness.


But he that prophesieth speaketh unto men to edification, and exhortation, and comfort.


but their minds were blinded: for until this day remaineth the same veil untaken away in the reading of the old testament; which veil is done away in Christ.


For our exhortation was not of deceit, nor of uncleanness, nor in guile:


And I beseech you, brethren, suffer the word of exhortation: for I have written a letter unto you in few words.
