And his father refused, and said, I know it, my son, I know it: he also shall become a people, and he also shall be great: but truly his younger brother shall be greater than he, and his seed shall become a multitude of nations.


And a certain man of the sons of the prophets said unto his neighbor in the word of the Lord, Smite me, I pray thee. And the man refused to smite him.


And the sons of the prophets that were at Beth–el came forth to Eli´sha, and said unto him, Knowest thou that the Lord will take away thy master from thy head today? And he said, Yea, I know it; hold ye your peace.


Now there cried a certain woman of the wives of the sons of the prophets unto Eli´sha, saying, Thy servant my husband is dead; and thou knowest that thy servant did fear the Lord: and the creditor is come to take unto him my two sons to be bondmen.


And he said, All is well. My master hath sent me, saying, Behold, even now there be come to me from mount E´phra-im two young men of the sons of the prophets: give them, I pray thee, a talent of silver, and two changes of garments.


And the sons of the prophets said unto Eli´sha, Behold now, the place where we dwell with thee is too strait for us.


And Eli´sha the prophet called one of the children of the prophets, and said unto him, Gird up thy loins, and take this box of oil in thine hand, and go to Ra´moth–gil´e-ad:


a time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;


Keep silence before me, O islands; and let the people renew their strength: let them come near; then let them speak: let us come near together to judgment.


Then answered Amos, and said to Amazi´ah, I was no prophet, neither was I a prophet's son; but I was a herdman, and a gatherer of sycamore fruit:


But the Lord is in his holy temple: let all the earth keep silence before him.


And it came to pass, while he blessed them, he was parted from them, and carried up into heaven.


which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.


until the day in which he was taken up, after that he through the Holy Ghost had given commandments unto the apostles whom he had chosen:


But he said, I am not mad, most noble Festus; but speak forth the words of truth and soberness.


After that thou shalt come to the hill of God, where is the garrison of the Philistines: and it shall come to pass, when thou art come thither to the city, that thou shalt meet a company of prophets coming down from the high place with a psaltery, and a tabret, and a pipe, and a harp, before them; and they shall prophesy:
