Then David put garrisons in Syria of Damascus: and the Syrians became servants to David, and brought gifts. And the Lord preserved David whithersoever he went.


and he gathered men unto him, and became captain over a band, when David slew them of Zobah: and they went to Damascus, and dwelt therein, and reigned in Damascus.


And the rest of the acts of Jerobo´am, how he warred, and how he reigned, behold, they are written in the book of the Chronicles of the kings of Israel.


Now the rest of the acts of Ahazi´ah which he did, are they not written in the book of the Chronicles of the kings of Israel?


And Jeho´ash slept with his fathers, and was buried in Samaria with the kings of Israel; and Jerobo´am his son reigned in his stead.


And Jerobo´am slept with his fathers, even with the kings of Israel; and Zachari´ah his son reigned in his stead.


All these were reckoned by genealogies in the days of Jotham king of Judah, and in the days of Jerobo´am king of Israel.


I will break also the bar of Damascus, and cut off the inhabitant from the plain of Aven, and him that holdeth the sceptre from the house of Eden: and the people of Syria shall go into captivity unto Kir, saith the Lord.
