For he performeth the thing that is appointed for me: and many such things are with him.


Surely he shall not be moved for ever: the righteous shall be in everlasting remembrance.


But before all these, they shall lay their hands on you, and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues, and into prisons, being brought before kings and rulers for my name's sake.


They shall put you out of the synagogues: yea, the time cometh, that whosoever killeth you will think that he doeth God service.


These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.


confirming the souls of the disciples, and exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God.


For David speaketh concerning him, I foresaw the Lord always before my face; for he is on my right hand, that I should not be moved:


And when he was come unto us, he took Paul's girdle, and bound his own hands and feet, and said, Thus saith the Holy Ghost, So shall the Jews at Jerusalem bind the man that owneth this girdle, and shall deliver him into the hands of the Gentiles.


Then Paul answered, What mean ye to weep and to break mine heart? for I am ready not to be bound only, but also to die at Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus.


for I will show him how great things he must suffer for my name's sake.


And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also; knowing that tribulation worketh patience;


Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.


For I think that God hath set forth us the apostles last, as it were appointed to death: for we are made a spectacle unto the world, and to angels, and to men.


Wherefore I desire that ye faint not at my tribulations for you, which is your glory.


and in nothing terrified by your adversaries: which is to them an evident token of perdition, but to you of salvation, and that of God.


if ye continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which ye have heard, and which was preached to every creature which is under heaven; whereof I Paul am made a minister;


For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,


so that we ourselves glory in you in the churches of God, for your patience and faith in all your persecutions and tribulations that ye endure:


Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God;


For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps:


Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer: behold, the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days: be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life.


I know thy works, and where thou dwellest, even where Satan's seat is: and thou holdest fast my name, and hast not denied my faith, even in those days wherein An´tipas was my faithful martyr, who was slain among you, where Satan dwelleth.
