Then I said, I will not make mention of him, nor speak any more in his name. But his word was in mine heart as a burning fire shut up in my bones, and I was weary with forbearing, and I could not stay.


so that the Lord could no longer bear, because of the evil of your doings, and because of the abominations which ye have committed; therefore is your land a desolation, and an astonishment, and a curse, without an inhabitant, as at this day.


And they that conducted Paul brought him unto Athens: and receiving a commandment unto Silas and Timothy for to come to him with all speed, they departed.


Now while Paul waited for them at Athens, his spirit was stirred in him, when he saw the city wholly given to idolatry.


I had no rest in my spirit, because I found not Titus my brother; but taking my leave of them, I went from thence into Macedo´nia.


But we, brethren, being taken from you for a short time in presence, not in heart, endeavored the more abundantly to see your face with great desire.


For this cause, when I could no longer forbear, I sent to know your faith, lest by some means the tempter have tempted you, and our labor be in vain.
