And she said, O my lord, as thy soul liveth, my lord, I am the woman that stood by thee here, praying unto the Lord.


and the name of Saul's wife was Ahin´o-am, the daughter of Ahim´a-az: and the name of the captain of his host was Abner, the son of Ner, Saul's uncle.


And he sent, and brought him in. Now he was ruddy, and withal of a beautiful countenance, and goodly to look to. And the Lord said, Arise, anoint him: for this is he.


And David took the head of the Philistine, and brought it to Jerusalem; but he put his armor in his tent.


And the king said, Inquire thou whose son the stripling is.


And Saul said to him, Whose son art thou, thou young man? And David answered, I am the son of thy servant Jesse the Beth´lehemite.


And David arose, and came to the place where Saul had pitched: and David beheld the place where Saul lay, and Abner the son of Ner, the captain of his host: and Saul lay in the trench, and the people pitched round about him.
