Now these are the generations of Esau, who is Edom.


These are the sons of Esau, who is Edom, and these are their dukes.


Thus dwelt Esau in mount Se´ir: Esau is Edom.


From the blood of the slain, from the fat of the mighty, the bow of Jonathan turned not back, and the sword of Saul returned not empty.

Saul reigned one year; and when he had reigned two years over Israel,


Then Saul went up from following the Philistines: and the Philistines went to their own place.


And there was sore war against the Philistines all the days of Saul: and when Saul saw any strong man, or any valiant man, he took him unto him.


Now a certain man of the servants of Saul was there that day, detained before the Lord; and his name was Do´eg, an Edomite, the chiefest of the herdmen that belonged to Saul.
