In that same day the Lord made a covenant with Abram, saying, Unto thy seed have I given this land, from the river of Egypt unto the great river, the river Euphra´tes:


And Hiram king of Tyre sent messengers to David, and cedar trees, and carpenters, and masons: and they built David a house.


then To´i sent Joram his son unto king David, to salute him, and to bless him, because he had fought against Hadade´zer, and smitten him: for Hadade´zer had wars with To´i. And Joram brought with him vessels of silver, and vessels of gold, and vessels of brass:


And they brought every man his present, vessels of silver, and vessels of gold, and garments, and armor, and spices, horses, and mules, a rate year by year.


So Hiram gave Solomon cedar trees and fir trees according to all his desire.


And king Solomon raised a levy out of all Israel; and the levy was thirty thousand men.


Now Hiram king of Tyre sent messengers to David, and timber of cedars, with masons and carpenters, to build him a house.


Also some of the Philistines brought Jehosh´aphat presents, and tribute silver; and the Arabians brought him flocks, seven thousand and seven hundred rams, and seven thousand and seven hundred he goats.


And Solomon sent to Huram the king of Tyre, saying, As thou didst deal with David my father, and didst send him cedars to build him a house to dwell therein, even so deal with me.


And he reigned over all the kings from the river even unto the land of the Philistines, and to the border of Egypt.


There have been mighty kings also over Jerusalem, which have ruled over all countries beyond the river; and toll, tribute, and custom, was paid unto them.


And the daughter of Tyre shall be there with a gift; even the rich among the people shall entreat thy favor.


He shall have dominion also from sea to sea, and from the river unto the ends of the earth.


Why hast thou then broken down her hedges, so that all they which pass by the way do pluck her?


For I will cast out the nations before thee, and enlarge thy borders: neither shall any man desire thy land, when thou shalt go up to appear before the Lord thy God thrice in the year.


The burden of Tyre. Howl, ye ships of Tarshish; for it is laid waste, so that there is no house, no entering in: from the land of Chittim it is revealed to them.


And she had strong rods for the sceptres of them that bare rule, and her stature was exalted among the thick branches, and she appeared in her height with the multitude of her branches.


Thus saith the Lord; For three transgressions of Tyrus, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they delivered up the whole captivity to Edom, and remembered not the brotherly covenant:


He shall pour the water out of his buckets, and his seed shall be in many waters, and his king shall be higher than Agag, and his kingdom shall be exalted.


for he loveth our nation, and he hath built us a synagogue.


And it shall be, if it make thee answer of peace, and open unto thee, then it shall be, that all the people that is found therein shall be tributaries unto thee, and they shall serve thee.


But the children of Be´li-al said, How shall this man save us? And they despised him, and brought him no presents. But he held his peace.
