Then Asa took all the silver and the gold that were left in the treasures of the house of the Lord, and the treasures of the king's house, and delivered them into the hand of his servants: and king Asa sent them to Ben–ha´dad, the son of Tabrim´on, the son of He´zi-on, king of Syria, that dwelt at Damascus, saying,


And Ben–ha´dad sent unto him, and said, The gods do so unto me, and more also, if the dust of Samaria shall suffice for handfuls for all the people that follow me.


And all the elders and all the people said unto him, Hearken not unto him, nor consent.
