and I will fetch a morsel of bread, and comfort ye your hearts; after that ye shall pass on: for therefore are ye come to your servant. And they said, So do, as thou hast said.


So he arose and went to Zar´ephath. And when he came to the gate of the city, behold, the widow woman was there gathering of sticks: and he called to her, and said, Fetch me, I pray thee, a little water in a vessel, that I may drink.


And she said, As the Lord thy God liveth, I have not a cake, but a handful of meal in a barrel, and a little oil in a cruse: and, behold, I am gathering two sticks, that I may go in and dress it for me and my son, that we may eat it, and die.


Arise, get thee to Zar´ephath, which belongeth to Zidon, and dwell there: behold, I have commanded a widow woman there to sustain thee.


for it was so, when Jez´ebel cut off the prophets of the Lord, that Obadi´ah took a hundred prophets, and hid them by fifty in a cave, and fed them with bread and water.)


And whosoever shall give to drink unto one of these little ones a cup of cold water only in the name of a disciple, verily I say unto you, he shall in no wise lose his reward.
